My Story - My Biography

Dr Cyriac Pappachan is a world-famous Infertility Specialist and Laparoscopic Surgeon. Dr Cyriac has a prolific career spanning over a decade during which he treated about 30,000 patients and operated over 15,000 patients. He works all seven days a week with hardly any leave. He always wanted his patients to be happy and always gave his best to the patients. His motto is “your smile is the key to my heart”. Though there is a huge waiting period to see him for appointment, once the patient sees him, they are happy as their problems are all solved. His contributions in the field of infertility and laparoscopy have been praised by his contemporaries.
Dr Cyriac has won many national and international awards for his scientific papers. He is a national operating faculty too. He never refused treatment to a patient because of their financial constraints. This mentality helped him successfully conduct “Saphalyam Infertility Eradication Camp” across all 14 districts of Kerala twice in the years 2018 and 2019 and treated over 5000 patients. In 2020 he conducted Gynaec and Infertility Camp at Paripupara Community Hall, Calicut, which was organised by the local people. The camp at the Nipa virus affected place was attended by over 300 people. On 20.01.2023, the Asia Book of Records honoured him with World record for Largest Multiple fibroid uterus weighing 4.420kg removed by laparoscopy. Dr Cyriac’s interest in laparoscopy and infertility led him to travel across India and World to master the same.
My Education
Schooling
Dr Cyriac had primary education from St. Thomas School, Trivandrum, and Mount Bethany English Medium High School, Mylapra, Pathanamthitta. He finished his schoolings with distinction and completed Pre Degree from Mar Ivanios College Trivandrum. Though he was topper in mathematics during school days, his ambition of becoming a doctor made him focus on science during the college days. His father was his role model for the same.
Medical Education
MBBS from Shri B.M.Patil Medical College and Research Centre, Bijapur, Karnataka, in the year 2009.
MD in Obstetrics and Gynecology from Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu in the year 2012. His mentor was late Dr Biswajith Chakraverty, who was a renowned teacher, guide and philosopher.
Fellowship in Minimal Invasive Surgery- Gynecology from Rajiv Gandhi University, Bangalore in 2013, under Dr B Ramesh, who is a world famous laparoscopic surgeon
Masters in reproductive medicine, NHS Homerton, London.
Diploma in Advanced Gynaec Endoscopy at CICE, France.
Fellowship and Diploma in Minimal Access Surgery from World Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons, New Delhi.
Attended hands on training programme on radical hysterectomy at Galaxy Care Hospital, Pune, during 06 – 10 June 2016.
Attended 1st American Association of Gynec Laparoscopy Certified hands on intensive master in basic and advanced laparoscopic surgical anatomy of the female pelvis and techniques at Verona, Italy during 09 – 12 July 2018 and got trained under Marcella Ceccaroni and Shailesh Puntambekar.
Attended the induction training for medical officers in modern blood banking technology organised by the Kerala State AIDS Control Society at Sree Chithra Tirunal Institute of Medical Sciences and Technology, Thiruvananthpuram, during 30 July – 04 August 2012.
Atteneded the programme on Reputation Management in New Media Era conducted by Indian Institute of Management, Ahmendabad, during 09 – 10 September 2019.
My Working Experience
Career
- Worked at Ramesh Hospital, Banglore (2012 – 2014). Dr Cyriac was fond student of Dr B Ramesh and he left a legacy there.
- Worked at SUT Hospital, Pattom, as visiting Laparoscopic Surgeon (2015 – 2017). He started gynaec laparoscopy along with his teacher and guide Prof Prasannakumari in this institute.
- Joined The Lifeline Hospital, Adoor, during 2014, as Consultant Infertility Specialist and Gynaec Laparoscopic Surgeon
- Started the Lifeline Hospital at Panampilly Nagar, Kochi. Now working Monday to Thursday at Adoor lifeline and Friday to Sunday at kochi lifeline.
